Rishabh Pant shares workout video amid recovery

Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant, who has been recovering from his last year’s road accident injuries, on Monday, shared a glimpse of his workout routine with fans.

Pant took to his official Instagram handle and posted a video clip in which he was seen diligently working out on an exercise bike, in order to regain his form and fitness. “Grip. Twist. Paddle. Good vibes only,” he wrote in the caption.

Seeing Pant’s recovery several people expressed their joy in the social media post’s comment section. One of them was Australian cricketer David Warner, who led the Delhi Capitals during Pant’s absence in IPL 2023.

He lauded the young cricketer’s efforts, expressing his delight by stating, “This makes me smile and very happy.”

Pant’s journey to recovery has been marked by significant milestones, starting from the unfortunate car crash that left him with severe injuries. The horrifying accident happened on December 30, 2022.

While driving from Delhi to Dehradun, the Indian cricketer’s car had rammed straight into a divider near Roorkee. He endured multiple injuries, including cuts, ligament tears, and abrasions.

Pant was subsequently taken to the hospital by some locals. Following the harrowing accident and after receiving initial treatment in Dehradun, Pant was airlifted to Mumbai for better and more specialised treatment.

Prior to the accident, Pant, who has represented India in several international matches, had been a key part of the Indian cricket team across all formats.

However, for the past six months, he has been out of competitive cricket and is recovering from critical injuries. He played his last match for India against Bangladesh at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in December, shortly before he met with the horrific accident.

Pant has been undergoing a dedicated rehabilitation program supervised by the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. This regimen encompassed strength training, flexibility exercises, and running drills.
