Joan is a highly anticipated series in which Turner portrays the real-life character Joan Hannington, chronicling her transformation from a housewife to a criminal mastermind in 1980s London. Frank Dillane plays the role of Joan’s husband, with Gershwyn Eustache Jr., Kirsty J. Curtis, Laura Aikman, Alex Blake, Harry Pittard, and Lankesh rounding out the cast.
The show has already generated considerable awards season buzz, particularly for Turner, who underwent a striking transformation for her lead role.
