While Karthi’s ‘Japan’ and Karthik Subbaraj’s ‘Jigarthanda Double X’ are coming to cinemas this weekend as a Diwali special, the popular OTT sites are going to be filled with exciting releases to light up the Diwali weekend. More than a dozen films and series will be premiering on the leading streaming services for this Diwali. They are:
The Road (Tamil) on Aha – A crime thriller with Trisha playing the lead role. Directed by Arun Vaseegaran, the movie also stars Shabeer Kallarakkal, Santhosh Prathap, Miya George, Venkat Prasanna, Vela Ramamoorthy, MS Bhaskar and many others. The film received good reviews from the audience during its theatrical release. It premieres on 10th November.
Label (Tamil) on Disney+ Hotstar – A new web series starring Jai in the lead role and directed by Arunraja Kamaraja of ‘Kanaa’ and ‘Nenjuku Needhi’ fame. The show is a legal drama about people’s identity with Jai playing an advocate. The first season will debut on November 10th.
Shot Boot Three (Tamil) on Prime Video – A children’s film starring Sneha and Venkat Prabhu in the lead roles with Yogi Babu, Sivaangi, Poovaiyar, Praniti, Kailash Heet and Vedanth Vasanth in supporting roles. Written, directed and produced by Arun Vaidyanathan, it was released on November 7.
Pulikkuthi Pandi (Tamil) on Prime Video – An action drama film directed by Muthaiah with Vikram Prabhu playing the titular role and Lakshmi Menon as the female lead. This movie was released directly on Sun TV back in 2021. Now, it is coming to OTT in various languages on November 10.
The Killer (English) on Netflix – The world-famous director David Fincher is back with this new action thriller starring Michael Fassbender. The film is based on the French graphic novel series of the same name. It is slated to premiere on November 10.
Valatty (Malayalam) on Disney+ Hotstar – A heartwarming love story of two dogs. Directed by Devan Jayakumar, the film features the voices of Roshan Mathew, Raveena Ravi, Soubin Shahir, Sunny Wayne, Saiju Kurup, and Aju Varghese. It premiered on November 7.
Pippa (Hindi) on Prime Video – A biographical war film based on the life of Captain Balram Singh Mehta of India’s 45 Cavalry regiment who fought in the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971. The film stars Ishaan Khatter, Mrunal Thakur and Priyanshu Painyuli in lead roles. With music by AR Rahman, it debuts on November 10.
Ghoomer (Hindi) on Zee5 – Director R Balki’s latest sports drama about a one-handed bowler. Starring Abhishek Bachchan, Saiyami Kher, Shabana Azmi and Angad Bedi, it streams on November 10.
Rudri (Kannada) on Namma Flix – November 10th.
Robbie Williams (English) on Netflix – A new docuseries released on 8th November.
The Santa Clauses Season 2 (English) on Disney+ Hotstar – November 8.
