Rajini and Kamal to unite after a long time for this important event?

An announcement has been made about a grand event that will be graced by Superstar Rajinikanth and Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan after a long gap. The arch professional rivals and close offscreen friends last attended the audio launch of the first part of Mani Ratnam’s ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ that happened a couple of years back.

The film industry is celebrating the birth centenary of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister the late M. Karunanidhi as ‘Kalaingar 100’ to be held on December 24th. The legendary politician started his career in Tamil cinema as a screenwriter and gained prominence. His ‘Parasakthi’ the debut movie of Nadigar Thilagam Sivaji Ganesan is still lauded as one of the best ever socio political dramas ever in Indian cinema.

The Nadigar Sangam and Producers Council dignataries including Nasser, Karthi, Thenandal Murali and R.K. Selvamani visited both Rajini and Kamal at their respective residences and gave them the invite. Since both the legends were close to Karunanidhi they are expected to grace ‘Kalaigniar 100’.

On the professional front Rajini who is fresh from delivering the all time blockbuster hit ‘Jailer’ has under his belt the upcoming movies ‘Lal Salaam’, ‘Thalaivar 170’ and ‘Thalaivar 171’. On the other hand, Kamal who also delivered his career best grosser ‘Vikram’ has the mega lineup of new films that include ‘Indian 2’, ‘Indian 3’, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, ‘Thug Life’ and ‘KH 233’.
