The case against actor Jamie Foxx was filed with the New York State Supreme Court on Monday. It claims that he sexually assaulted and hit the woman.

CNN got a copy of the complaint, which says the alleged event happened in 2015 at Catch NYC, a famous restaurant in New York City.

The plaintiff of this case is anonymous. She says that Foxx “intentionally and without consent used force to offensively touch Plaintiff’s person,” which included touching her breasts and genitalia. What the lawsuit says is that Foxx seemed “intoxicated” at the time of the event.

The woman says in her complaint that she has suffered and is still suffering “physical and emotional injuries, anxiety, distress, embarrassment and economic harm,” and she wants an unspecified amount of money.

The plaintiff is also suing Catch Hospitality Group, the restaurant’s parent company, and several other businesses that are connected to it for hiring, teaching, and supervising people without due care.

The lawsuit was brought under New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which became law in late November 2022 and allows adult victims of sexual abuse fight their abusers in New York, even if the time limit for their claims had passed.

Adults who have been sexually assaulted have one year from today to file a case against the people who did it. This deadline is Friday.
