Director M. Manikandan shot to fame with his first movie, “Kaaka Muttai,” which was released in 2014. After that, he has only been churning out hit films consistently.
Despite announcing the release of his latest film, “Kadaisi Vivasayi,” in 2022, he has been conferred with the National Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil. The latest reports by TOI have it that his house in Usilampatti, Madurai, got burgled, and one lakh rupees and five sovereigns of gold were stolen.
Manikandan, born in Usilampatti, lives in Chennai for work’s sake, while his assistant and driver take care of his residence in Usilampatti.
The incident came to light as the driver found the gates of the house open at the time of his visit in the evening. He made no time to inform the police, and they swung into action. Now, the police are on the lookout for the dacoits.
Manikandan directed and Vetrimaaran produced “Kaaka Muttai,” a comedy-drama film released in 2014. This movie portrays the tale of two kids in a Chennai slum aspiring to taste pizza and the struggles they go through to get there despite all odds. It received critical acclaim, commercial success, and won the National Award for Best Children’s Film
