Rebel Star Prabhas’s ‘Kalki 2898AD’ is one of the costliest Indian films ever made. Directed by Nag Ashwin of ‘Mahanati’ fame, the movie is one of a kind attempt in Indian cinema, a dystopian mythological sci-fi flick with Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone in key roles.
Kalki 2898AD is slated to take over the cinemas on May 9th. It was the first Indian film to debut in an international comic-con event. The team had already confirmed that the film will have sequels and pan out as a global franchise. If the reports are to be believed, the latest is that the creator has planned 9 parts for the Prabhas starrer.
As of today, two or three-part films are the most that Indian movie franchises can do. ‘Kalki 2898AD’ will become the longest film franchise in our country if this happens. Though this buzz is rocking social media, there is no official word regarding this. Some sources tell us that these are baseless reports.
Reliable sources say that Kalki 2898AD will be a 2 or 3-part film and it may have prequels and spin-offs based on the audience’s reception to the movie. The film’s music is scored by Santhosh Narayanan with cinematography by Djordje Stojiljkovic and editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao.
