In a significant development, the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) unveiled the schedule for the Lok Sabha elections 2024 on Saturday, March 16th. The hugely anticipated polls across all states and union territories will be conducted in seven phases, beginning on April 19.

According to the schedule, voting will be held in a total of 22 states and UTs in just one day. Meanwhile, three states will go through the polling process in all seven phases. As expected, Uttar Pradesh, which is the biggest state in India population-wise, will see polls on all seven dates, along with Bihar and West Bengal.

Meanwhile, voting will be conducted in a single phase in all UTs, except the newly created Jammu and Kashmir, where polling will be conducted in five phases.
