Another much-awaited Chiyaan Vikram project since 2013, “Dhruva Natchathiram,” stalled amid a host of issues, most saliently those related to the budget. But the rumor mills churn that the makers are looking at a theatrical release this time around.

Sources say the clash might be with the film “Aadujeevitham” by Prithviraj Sukumaran on March 28, 2024. Reportedly, disputes rose, but there have not been any settlements in place.

If that’s the case, the espionage auctioneers, initially announced with Suriya in 2013 and later with Vikram in 2015, promise to be a blockbuster treat for fans. It would center around a team of covert and shadowy spies, code-named ‘The Basement’, with Vikram playing John, who takes the rogues to it. Other notable actors will be Vinayakan, Ritu Varma, Raadhika Sarathkumar, and Simran.

The censor board reports that Ondraga Entertainment and Oruoorleoru Picture House co-produce the movie’s music, with Harris Jayaraj serving as the composer. However, a legal notice to director Gautam Vasudev Menon in November 2023 was just a topping on the cake, demanding ₹2.40 crores for a smooth release thereof. The culmination of such developments keeps the audience on hooks about the destiny of Dhruva Natchathiram.
