We’ve had our first meeting with the Realme 12+ 5G, but it’s now time for it to get the review treatment.

Let’s recap the box contents first. The phone comes with a silicone case, a 67W charger, a SIM tool, and a cable. We’d call that a thorough retail package.

Realme offers the 12+ in two colors – Pioneer Green, which we’ve seen before and would call more of a turquoise or teal, and a Navigator Beige. Both feature a faux leather back (silicone polymer, if you want to get technical), which won’t be to everyone’s taste, but we attest that it’s superior for grip and handling.

While just as grippy, the glossy side rail gets smudgy and greasy after about 10 munites out of the box, which isn’t ideal.

Realme 12+ 5G in for review

We’ve talked about the Realme 12+’s specs in detail several times now, so we’re not going to recap them again in detail. Suffice it to say that it’s one of the better-specced midrangers in its class — a big 6.67-inch 120Hz-ready AMOLED – check. An efficient 6nm Dimensity 7050 chipset – check, big 5,000mAh battery – check. Throw in some niceties like IP54 splash resistance and stereo speakers, and Android 14 out of the box and there’s nothing anything to complain about.
