The “Pitch Perfect” star turned her attention back to Instagram on Tuesday and once again lashed out at Sacha Baron Cohen, whom she’d previously called an “asshole,” and described the supposed threats against her upcoming memoir, “Rebel Rising.”
“Thank you, everyone, for reaching out with messages of love and support and sharing your own stories of the same people,” she wrote on an Instagram Story. “I really appreciate that. Let him know that I’m not feeling intimidated or threatened by him! I am working very hard behind the curtain to make sure my book does hit the shelves.”
While she was having a very public spat with the “Borat” actor, Wilson made it clear: Cohen is only briefly referenced in her book. “PS: My book isn’t solely about him—it’s just one chapter!”
He didn’t elaborate on what Wilson’s role in portraying Cohen was, but he had previously worked with the actress in the 2016 movie “The Brothers Grimsby.”
Wilson’s recent comments come in the wake of a rebuttal by Cohen’s team on her claims, which had cited substantial evidence against them. A spokesperson for Cohen has made it clear through various elements of evidence that the allegations from Wilson are false and refer to the production of “Grimsby.”
Wilson first alluded to her nasty run-in with a Hollywood figure in an Instagram video from March 15, plugging her memoir. She later identified Cohen after she said he used “crisis PR and other attacks” to squelch information in her book.
Wilson vented her frustrations online and vowed not to let the legal backlash intimidate her work. “Rebel Rising” comes out on April 2.
