Thalapathy Vijay’s ‘Ghilli’ coming to cinemas again: Official re-release date unveiled!

Re-releases are the new normal in Kollywood. While Thalapathy Vijay is set to retire from cinema after two films to concentrate on politics, the actor’s 20-year-old film, ‘Ghilli’, is gearing up to have a grand re-release on the big screens. The official announcement regarding this came out today.

Earlier, ‘Ghilli’ was said to be re-released on April 17 but now, the date has been shifted due to the elections. The producers have announced that the movie will hit the screens again in a 4K remastered version on April 20th. A new poster was unveiled today. A new trailer of ‘Ghilli’ is all set to debut on the internet this evening.

‘Ghilli’ directed by Dharani is all about a Kabbaddi player Saravana Velu’s quest to save Dhanalakshmi from the ruthless Muthupandi. This movie starring Vijay, Trisha and Prakash Raj became the first 25-crore grosser in Tamil cinema. Composer Vidyasagar’s album became an evergreen hit. No new Tamil films are releasing on the week of Ghilli’s re-release.
