Director Desingh Periasamy made a dream debut in cinema with the 2020 film, ‘Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal’, starring Dulquer Salmaan, Rakshan, Ritu Varma, Gautham Menon and many others. The movie was a critical and commercial blockbuster. He is set to direct Simbu in the most awaited, ‘STR 48’.
On Thursday, Desingh registered a police complaint against one of his assistant directors in Anna Nagar, Chennai. This has created a stir in the film industry. His assistant, Mohammad Iqbal, is the accused as per the filmmaker’s petition. The police officers have initiated an inquiry based on Desingh Periasamy’s complaint.
In the complaint, Desingh stated, “Mohammad Iqbal has been working with me as an assistant director since 2018 and has also been looking after my house’s accounts. Two days ago, I sent him to get a mortgage loan with 150 grams of gold jewellery. But he stole the 3 lakhs mortgage money. He threatened to kill me and my wife when I inquired about it.”
