The Clown Prince of Crime and Harley Quinn have a new message for the world: love.

Joaquin Phoenix returns to the role of Arthur Fleck, along with Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn, in the debut trailer for “Joker: Folie à Deux.”

The dark trailer opens at Arkham Asjsonly, the prison home of the Joker. Arthur Fleck spots another patient named Harley Quinn. Together, they plan a breakout and later dance hysterically to spread fear on the roads of Gotham.

“I’m nobody. I’ve never been nothing in my life like you have,” mimed Harley with a finger gun to her head.

The sequel will also be about the walking of Arthur Fleck, to be joined by Harley Quinn as his muse. He is not alone, as the trailer shows.

According to director Todd Phillips, the sequel had always been in discussion; they all loved Arthur’s character.

People attribute Gaga’s casting to her magic. The sequel, reportedly a jukebox musical, features song and dance numbers. On October 4, 2024, precisely five years after the first movie, “Joker 2” will hit theaters. The budget is to reach the box-office-smashing prequel with a budget close to the financially successful predecessor: $200 million. The studio also slain other pictures in its 2024 slate, including “Beetlejuice 2,” “Horizon: An American Saga,” and an origin “Mad Max” prequel, “Furiosa.
