One of the most awaited combos in Kollywood, Superstar Rajinikanth and director Lokesh Kanagaraj, came together for ‘Thalaivar 171’, bankrolled by Sun Pictures. As promised earlier, the movie team revealed the title with a kickass teaser video today. ‘Thalaivar 171’ is officially titled ‘Coolie’.
The 3-minute video shows some goons handling smuggled gold products in their hideout. They get ready for a fight using gold as their weapons following a call about the man who breached their territory. Superstar Rajinikanth ambushes them and takes control of their hub. The teaser ends with a trademark dialogue, ‘Mudichidlama?’, just like previous Lokesh movie teasers.
If the reports are to be believed, we might witness Thalaivar as a villain after a long time in ‘Coolie’. His presence in this title teaser gives off a villain vibe, mainly because of the vintage dialogue. Superstar Rajinikanth recites his famous old dialogue from the 1982 film ‘Ranga’, which is originally from the ‘Siva Sambo’ song in ‘Ninaithale Inikkum’ (1979).
Also, Anirudh’s ‘D.I.S.C.O’ track in the teaser is a remix of the song ‘Vaa Vaa Pakkam Vaa’ from Superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Thangamagan’, composed by Ilaiyaraaja. It is now official that ‘Coolie’ will have cinematography by Girish Gangadharan, art by Sathees Kumar and edit by Philomin Raj with stunts by Anbariv. This mega-actioner will be released in Pan-Indian languages soon.
