With the release of “ATAVISTA” and the thrilling tour announcement, Donald Glover, better known by his musical name as Childish Gambino, has triumphantly returned.
Glover announced on X on Monday that “ATAVISTA” was currently streaming. He disclosed that this record is essentially his 2020 release, “3.15.20,” finished.
Several new Childish Gambino songs were first released on DonaldGloverPresents.com on March 15, 2020, however they were quickly removed. Then “3.15.20” made its formal debut on streaming services, with 21 Savage and Ariana Grande making cameo appearances. But it was eventually taken down.
Young Nudy and Summer Walker make cameo appearances on the two new songs on the just released album, “Atavista” and “Human Sacrifice.”
Celebrating “Atavista,” Glover released a music video for “Little Foot Big Foot,” starring Quinta Brunson, Rob Bynes, Monyett Crump, and others, and directed by Hiro Murai, who has worked on programs including “Barry” and “Station Eleven.”
Glover has also announced his first tour since 2019, “The New World Tour.” The tour, which is set to begin in Oklahoma City on August 11th, will go through major North American cities before stopping in Europe, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. WILLOW, the musical creation of Willow Smith, and Amaarae will launch the tour, which is scheduled to wrap up in Perth, Australia, on February 11, 2025.
