In the new teaser trailer for Season 2 of Prime Video’s “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” Galadriel, played by Morfydd Clark, raises her sword and warns Elrond and the other fighters. The excitement is building.

Season 2 is slated to premiere on August 29 and looks to surpass all expectations, particularly with Sauron’s reappearance and his menacing presence.

A look into a grimmer and darker season is provided by the teaser, which stars Charlie Vicker as the ruler of Mordor and the menacing Dark Tower. Watchers also saw additional rings being created and a catastrophic explosion that rivals the eruption of Mount Doom in Season 1. Owain Arthur’s Prince Durin says, menacingly, “an evil, ancient and powerful has returned.”

Prime Video debuted a behind-the-scenes film and Season 2 key art at their Upfront event in addition to the teaser.

The Season 2 poster, which places a strong emphasis on Sauron, also reveals Vicker’s major role in the next episodes.

September 1, 2022 saw the start of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” season 1, which ended on October 24 of the same year with a stunning climax that revealed Sauron’s covert existence.

At over $700 million, including rights acquisition from the J.R.R. Tolkien estate, the first season became the most watched series on the streaming service at the time, with over 100 million viewers worldwide by the end of 2022.

Season 2’s executive producers and directors, which include Sanaa Hamri and Louise Hooper, are J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay.
