Counting of votes underway in Odisha
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) gained a healthy lead after several rounds of counting of votes for the crucial Assembly and Lok Sabha elections 2024. As soon as the counting of votes began at 8 am, the early trends went in favour of the BJP. By noon, the BJP was leading in 73 assembly seats out of the total 147 seats.The BJD was leading on 57 and the Congres on 14 assembly seats.
In the 21 Lok Sabha seats, the BJP was way ahead of the BJD as it has consolidated its lead in 19 seats. After completion of counting of votes by 1 pm, several BJP heavyweights were leading in Assembly and Lok Sabha seats in Odisha.
