All eyes are glued to Election Commission data as the people’s mandate is about to be declared in a few hours from now. In a major update, early trends show Bharatiya Janata Party leading against Biju Janata Dal in Odisha Assembly Elections 2024. The ECI data shows that BJP is leading in 75 assembly constituency as of 12:20 PM. On the other hand, the ruling Biju Janata Dal, is ahead in 58 seats. Note that a political party needs to win 74 seats out of 147-member Odisha assembly to form government in the state. Taking about the leaders, Saffron’s Party’s Suresh Pujari is leading in Brajarajnagar with a margin of 21,000 votes while BJD’s Alka Mohanty is behind. At Attabira, BJP Assembly candidate Nihar Ranjan Mahananda is leading the polls with an astounding margin of 15,500 votes. In Berhampur, K Anil Kumar of BJP is leading with a margin of 6,327. BJD’s Ramesh Chandra Chyayu Patnaik is trailing. The trend shows similar scenario in Karanjia where BJP’s Padma Charan Haiburu is leading the vote-count by almost 15000 votes. Actor-turned Politician and BJP’s Digapahandi Candidate Sidhant Mohapatra is also leading in his constituency with a margin of 4000 votes. BJP Candidate Upasana Mohapatra from Brahmagiri is ahead of BJD’s Umakanta Samantray with 26000 votes in her favor. The margin currently is nearly 4000. The polling trend in Brajrajnagar, Rourkela, Keonjhar, Baripada, Balasore, Bhadrak, Chandbali, Dhenkanal, Barabati-Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur and others also follows the similar trend indicating massive lead for BJP.
