Thalapathy Vijay recently wrapped up shooting for his upcoming film ‘GOAT,’ directed by Venkat Prabhu and is currently on vacation. It is reported that he will return to Chennai next week to organize a felicitation event for high-scoring 10th and 12th-grade students.
Meanwhile, uncertainty surrounds Vijay’s plans post the release of ‘GOAT’. Initially, he was expected to star in ‘Thalapathy 69’ under H Vinoth’s direction, followed by a venture into politics. However, recent reports suggest that ‘Thalapathy 69’ has been shelved. Instead, the ‘Leo’ actor is likely to skip the project and move directly into politics, preparing for the 2026 state elections.
Notably, Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam was recently accepted as a political party by the Election Commission. The party’s general secretary, Bussy Anand, confirmed that preparations for TVK’s first political meeting are underway. This meeting will likely provide clarity on whether Vijay will pursue another film or directly step into politics.
‘Thalapathy 69’ was initially rumoured to be a political thriller directed by H Vinoth. Initially, it seemed that Sun Pictures or Mythri Movie Makers might bankroll the project, but later, KVN Productions was rumoured to be the producer. The latest buzz suggested that Thalapathy Vijay was planning to produce the film himself. However, current rumours indicate that the movie has been shelved.
