Revanna, arrested on charges of sexually abusing a 27-year-old male JD(S) party worker, was Monday remanded in

police custody

for eight days.
Suraj was produced in court in the afternoon. CID officials, who are investigating the case, had approached the 42nd ACMM court, seeking his custody for 14 days.
The court, however, remanded Suraj in police custody for 8 days, before he was taken to CID headquarters.
According to police sources, Suraj has been kept in the same room where his younger brother and former MP

Prajwal

Revanna was lodged earlier.

Prajwal, currently under arrest over rape charges, was taken out of the CID headquarters before Suraj was brought in and was produced in court after his elder brother was moved out.
A senior officer said Umesh MH, DSP from the homicide and burglary wing, has been appointed as the investigating officer, and the probe is being supervised by Sudheer Kumar Reddy CH, deputy inspector general of police, CID.
“We didn’t question Suraj much on Monday as some paperwork was still pending. The IO needed some more time to prepare the questionnaire.
“The actual interrogation will start from Tuesday,” sources said.
