Namita Thapar
shared how dealing with
trolls
has helped her evolve, making her “
thick-skinned
,” which she views positively. She discussed this
personal growth
while talking to actress Karishma Tanna on her podcast.
When Karishma asked her about trolling, Namita reacted saying, “I get trolled a lot. I got called nepo kid, papa ki pari, overacting ki dukaan.
It’s okay. After a while you just become so strong and it just makes you so thick skinned that it’s a good thing. If you look at every setback, every trolling it is a learning experience. It just makes you evilve as a person.”
Karishma and Namita, who are Gujaratis, converse in the language. Karishma says, “Even if you are papa ki pari, atleast you are working and not sitting idle.” Namita says, “You know, at some point I stopped answering people. Magaz maari nhi karna. I don’t care what people think or what they are saying. I don’t want to use my brain there. I would rather use my brain in earning money.”
Previously, while speaking to ETimes TV, Namita addressed trolls saying, “From day one, we get called nepo-kids and born with a silver spoon and papa ki pari. We are second generation. But what people don’t understand is, when I joined Emcure, we were 500 crores, we are 8000 crores now. To take it to that level as a group, the second and third generation also needs to have an entrepreneurial mindset. In India, 87% of our GDP is from family owned businesses. We are the third largest country, when it comes to just family businesses. While founders are fabulous, family businesses also have a very important place. The 2nd, 3rd, 4th generation also have a very important role. Sometimes, people don’t think through that. It’s just their ignorance, you just can’t help it.”
