In a concerning incident, a guardian of a student of the Nayagarh Autonomous College in Odisha, alleged unfair marking in the internal examinations conducted by the institution.
According to reports, Balabhadra Mohanty, father of a +3 Science female student of the college alleged that a particular faculty member is pressurising the students to join a private coaching centre.
“Various faculties do not teach in the classroom and ask the students to join their tuitions. My daughter did not join the private coaching centre which led to her scoring miserable marks in the practical and internal tests. She has a near-perfect score in the external examination but she did not score enough in the internal examinations conducted by the faculty,” alleged the student’s father.
As per reports, the students are further being threatened with deductions in internal and practical exam scores if they report the alleged discrepancies in internal marking.
Bipin Kumar Nayak, Principal of the Nayagarh Autonomous College said, “Only one guardian has brought such allegations. The college will set up an investigation team to look into the matter, and if any faculty is found to be guilty then strict action will be taken against them.”
No comments were received from the concerned faculty.
