Tamil cinema is gearing up for an intense showdown as several high-profile films are slated for release in the coming months. With a series of big releases already lined up for August 15th, industry insiders are now buzzing about an even bigger clash set to take place during the Pooja holidays and Diwali in October.
As it stands, Sivakarthikeyan’s much-anticipated biopic war drama, “Amaran,†has been officially announced for an October 31st release, coinciding with Diwali 2024. Adding to the festive competition, recent reports suggest that Jayam Ravi’s family entertainer “Brother,†directed by M. Rajesh, is also eyeing a Diwali release.
The potential clash doesn’t end there. Rumours are swirling that either one of Superstar Rajinikanth’s “Vettaiyan†or Ajith Kumar’s “Vidaamuyarchi†could also join the Diwali lineup. Both films are being produced by Lyca Productions and are currently in different stages of production.
Speculation is rife that if “Vidaamuyarchi†can wrap up production in time, it might be released on Diwali, while “Vettaiyan†could be scheduled to clash with Suriya’s “Kanguva†on October 10th or release on Diwali based on the time of completion. This potential face-off between some of the biggest stars in Tamil cinema has excited the fans.
