Balaghat

district in Madhya Pradesh took a tense turn when a group of 8-10

Naxalites

opened

fire

on the

police

party.
The

encounter

occurred during a planned sweep of the area by the specialised unit. As the Hawk Force team advanced through the forest, they were suddenly met with 5-6 rounds of gunfire from the Naxalites.

The police team responded, returning fire with 1-2 rounds in a controlled and measured manner. The exchange of gunfire was brief, and no casualties were reported on either side.
Following the confrontation, the Naxalites fled the scene, abandoning some of their ration supplies in their haste to escape. The Hawk Force secured the area and began a thorough search to locate and apprehend the fleeing Naxalites.
A massive search operation is currently underway in the Sirka forest and surrounding areas, as the authorities intensify their efforts to track down the insurgents. Local authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity as the search continues.
