It was recently announced that Superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Vettaiyan’ and Suriya’s ‘Kanguva’ will be released on the same day, October 10. This has set the stage for one of the biggest box office clashes in Kollywood this year. However, there are rumours that the filmmakers might decide to avoid this head-to-head competition.
Reports have emerged suggesting that ‘Kanguva’ might be postponed to a new release date. Despite the speculation, sources close to the project have confirmed that there are currently no plans to delay the film. Instead, there are talks that either ‘Vettaiyan’ or ‘Kanguva’ might move their release up by a day, to October 9. This strategic move could allow both films to capitalize on a strong opening day at the box office.
As of now, no official statements have been made regarding these rumours. ‘Vettaiyan’ is a cop action drama starring Rajinikanth, produced by Lyca Productions and directed by TJ Gnanavel. Meanwhile, ‘Kanguva’, featuring Suriya, is a fantasy action film produced by Studio Green and directed by Siruthai Siva.
