Harish Kalyan, one of Tamil cinema’s rising stars, known for hits like ‘Pyaar Prema Kaadhal’, ‘Ispade Rajavum Idhaya Raniyum’, ‘Oh Manapenne’, and ‘Parking’, is currently promoting his upcoming sports drama ‘Lubber Pandhu’, co-starring Attakathi Dinesh. However, the actor recently made headlines for addressing his departure from the film ‘Star’, which he was originally set to star in.
‘Star’, directed by Elan, was initially announced with Harish Kalyan in the lead role, with posters featuring the actor being released before the COVID-19 lockdown. The film, which revolves around the journey of an aspiring actor, was expected to mark a reunion between Harish Kalyan and the ‘Pyaar Prema Kaadhal’ director. However, after the project resumed post-lockdown in 2022, Kavin replaced Harish Kalyan.
In a recent promotional interview, Harish Kalyan broke his silence on the issue. He stated, “A lot unfolded during the making of ‘Star’, some of which came to my attention, while other things didn’t. The aspects that I wasn’t informed about could have been communicated to me more transparently by those involved. When the film began and the first look was being developed, I contributed significantly to the character and acting preparation, even though I hadn’t started shooting yet.”
He further explained, “The project kicked off in 2020 but faced a halt due to COVID. However, when the film was announced again in 2022, the details had changed, and I wasn’t notified that I was no longer part of the project. I’m unsure of what transpired during that time. While it was upsetting, I hold no grudge against anyone.” His revelation has quickly gone viral, sparking discussions among fans.
