“Thug Life” marks the much-anticipated reunion of Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan after their iconic collaboration in the 1987 blockbuster “Nayakan”. The shooting for the project kicked off in January. Following months of filming, recent reports hinted that the shoot was wrapped up.
Acclaimed director Sudha Kongara, a former assistant to Mani Ratnam, confirmed the wrap-up through a social media post, sharing behind-the-scenes photos that have quickly gone viral. Sources reveal that Kongara also served as an assistant director on “Thug Life”, further fueling excitement among fans and industry insiders alike.
With filming now complete, post-production work is set to begin soon. Industry buzz suggests that the team is targeting a grand Summer 2025 release. The gangster saga boasts a stellar ensemble cast, including Kamal Haasan, Simbu, Trisha and others. The project is a joint production by Kamal Haasan’s Rajkamal International, Madras Talkies, and Red Giant Movies.
