Exciting news has surfaced in Kollywood as actor Sivakarthikeyan is set to collaborate with acclaimed director Sudha Kongara for an upcoming high-budget film. Initially announced as ‘Suriya 43’, the project has now taken a new direction with Sivakarthikeyan stepping into the lead role. The film, titled ‘Purananooru’, was originally meant to feature Suriya, but will now see Sivakarthikeyan at the helm under Sudha Kongara’s direction.
Sources reveal that the film’s budget is estimated to exceed ₹100 crores, with Red Giant Movies taking over the project. The technical crew from the original ‘Suriya 43’ team, including music composer GV Prakash and stunt director Supreme Sundar, will remain on board. The film is set against the backdrop of the anti-Hindi imposition movement of the 1960s, adding a historical and socio-political layer to the narrative.
Adding to the excitement, Malayalam heartthrob Dulquer Salmaan is reportedly in talks for a pivotal role in the movie. Notably, Dulquer was also initially slated to be part of ‘Suriya 43’, further linking the two projects. With shooting expected to commence later this year, fans are buzzing with anticipation as this news continues to go viral across social media.
