Round-the-clock drinking water supply for Ward 47 and underground drainage facilities for Ward 1 in Pudukottai Municipality are to come up soon.
Minister for Law S. Regupathy and Minister for Backward Classes Welfare Siva. V. Meyynathan laid the foundation stone for the projects on Saturday.
Ashok Nagar in Ward 47 will receive round-the-clock drinking water supply once the work estimated at ₹25.31 crore was completed. Narimedu in Ward 1 is set to receive underground drainage system at a cost of ₹89.95 crore. The funds for the both the schemes are allocated under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme.
Pudukottai Collector M. Aruna, Mayor Tilakavathi Senthil, and Corporation Commissioner T. Narayanan were present.
