Ajith Kumar’s latest movie ‘Vidaamuyarchi’, directed by Magizh Thirumeni, is set to release tomorrow (Thursday). The film has achieved a milestone with its first-day advance booking crossing ₹10 crore in Tamil Nadu.
As of Sunday morning, over 5.5 lakh tickets were sold across 380 theatres for 2,750 shows. Reports indicate that more than 55% of viewers have secured their first-day tickets through advance booking. This has led to an advance collection of ₹10.5 crore.
Trade analysts predict that if ‘Vidaamuyarchi’ receives positive reviews post-release on February 6, the movie could turn into a significant box-office success.
The film is not only performing well in Tamil Nadu but has also received a strong reception in Karnataka. The advance booking in Karnataka has resulted in selling 66,000 tickets, generating around ₹1.85 crore.
For the opening weekend (February 6 to February 9), ‘Vidaamuyarchi’ is expected to earn nearly ₹21 crore across 375 theatres in Tamil Nadu, with 8,500 scheduled shows.
Directed by Magizh Thirumeni, this action-packed movie features Trisha, Arjun, Regina Cassandra, and Aarav in important roles. Produced by Lyca Productions, the movie’s music is composed by Anirudh. Notably, ‘Vidaamuyarchi’ is said to be inspired by the Hollywood film ‘Breakdown’.
