The first-day box office collection details of Ajith’s movie “Vidamuyarchi” have been released. Compared to his previous film “Thunivu,” data suggests that “Vidamuyarchi” also had a strong opening.
Directed by Magizh Thirumeni, “Vidamuyarchi” starring Ajith was released worldwide on February 6. Since it was his next movie after 2023’s “Thunivu,” Ajith fans celebrated its release on the first day. While the film received average reviews, it is expected to offer a unique cinematic experience for his fans.
Produced by Lyca Productions and released in many theaters, “Vidamuyarchi” reportedly earned approximately ₹22 crore in India on its first day, according to reliable trade sources. If global box office figures are included, the total collection is expected to be significantly higher. Notably, Ajith’s “Thunivu,” directed by H. Vinoth, collected ₹24.4 crore in India on its first day.
The film, initially set for a Pongal release but delayed due to script discussions, was launched in 2023 and finally released in February 2025. Alongside Ajith, the movie features Arjun, Trisha, Regina, and Aarav. It has music composed by Anirudh, with Om Prakash handling cinematography and Srikanth as the editor.
“Vidamuyarchi” is reportedly inspired by Hollywood’s “Breakdown.” Ajith’s salary for the film is estimated between ₹110 crore and ₹120 crore, while the total budget is around ₹200 crore. Theaters are expected to be packed during the weekend, and only then will the film’s profitability become clear.
