Champions Trophy 2025: Team India star Virat Kohli met with former cricketer and one of Champions Trophy ‘s biggest sensations, Shikhar Dhawan. The cricketers met at the Dubai International Stadium, when Team India were training to prepare for action against Bangladesh. Both of them chatted and shared a light moment during India’s training. Team India officially began their Champions Trophy campaign in Dubai against Bangladesh.

Virat Kohli-Shikhar Dhawan Bromance Takes Centre Stage In Dubai

India and Bangladesh officially begin their Champions Trophy campaigns in Dubai, where they compete for the coveted title. The Rohit Sharma-led Men in Blue will be hungry to bring the title back home after coming close at the 2017 Final against the defending champions Pakistan. Bangladesh, on the other hand, are oozing with confidence and aim for a title sweep in the marquee ICC competition.

Shikhar Dhawan, who brought out the coveted title before the match at the Dubai International Stadium, met his former teammate Virat Kohli  during the team’s training session. The former Team India cricketer also met with skipper Rohit Sharma during the toss. Dhawan shares a strong bond with some of the India stars, which was visible when he met with them in Dubai.

Shikhar Dhawan Named As ICC Event Ambassador

Former Team India opener Shikhar Dhawan has been officially named as a part of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 as the event ambassador. He is a part of a four-people team which would feature Dhawan among other legendary cricketers. Among them include Pakistan’s 2017 Champions Trophy-winning skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed, Ex-Australia all-rounder Shane Watson and legendary New Zealand pacer Tim Southee.

India’s Shikhar Dhawan is the leading run scorer in the ICC Champions Trophy. With 701 runs in two editions of the marquee tournament, Dhawan holds the tournament record for most hundreds and was named ‘Player of the Tournament’ in 2013. He also won two consecutive Golden Bats, which are presented to the tournament’s leading run-getter.
