Music Maestro Ilaiyaraaja is set to host a symphony concert in London on the 8th of this month. Ahead of the event, several political leaders and cinema celebrities have been meeting him to convey their best wishes. Actor Sivakarthikeyan, along with producer Arun Viswa and musician Tharun Sekar, visited Ilaiyaraaja’s studio to wish him personally.
During the visit, producer Arun Viswa presented a traditional Yazh musical instrument to Ilaiyaraaja. This instrument was crafted by musician Tharun Sekar. After receiving the gift, Ilaiyaraaja personally invited Sekar for a photograph.
Recalling the meeting, Tharun Sekar said, “It was Arun Viswa, the producer of the film ‘Maaveeran’, who invited me to meet Ilaiyaraaja and present the Yazh. He introduced me to Ilaiyaraaja, and I feel honored as I am a huge fan. Twelve years ago, after attending Ilaiyaraaja’s concert, I walked all night to reach home – that’s how much I admire him.”
Tharun Sekar further added, “I had previously met Ilaiyaraaja two years ago, but this time he remembered me. He examined the Yazh, asked about its type and string count, and expressed great interest. We gifted him a special ‘Sengottai Yazh’. When taking a photograph, he insisted I stand close, as I was the creator of the instrument.”
He concluded, “Meeting both Ilaiyaraaja and Sivakarthikeyan together was an unforgettable moment. Sivakarthikeyan also appreciated my work.” He also expressed excitement about Ilaiyaraaja possessing a musical instrument crafted by his team.
