Producer Shibu Thameens has explained the reason behind the delay in the release of actor Vikram’s film ‘Veera Dheera Sooran 2’. Although the movie was scheduled to release on the morning of March 27, it was released only in the evening after resolving certain court issues, leading to confusion and affecting its first-day box office collection.
Addressing the issue, Shibu Thameens clarified via social media that the delay was not due to the producer’s financial problems as many speculated. He apologized to actor Vikram, director SU Arunkumar, the film’s crew, distributors, exhibitors, fans, and the audience for the unexpected delay.
The real reason for the delay, he explained, was due to issues surrounding the OTT rights. The OTT rights holder couldn’t resell the rights before the film’s release, and to protect the investment, last-minute negotiations led to postponing the release. He thanked everyone who supported and helped resolve the issue, particularly producer Kathiresan and Arulpathy.
Directed by SU Arunkumar, the film stars Vikram, SJ Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Dushara Vijayan. It was produced by Shibu Thameens and released by Five Star Senthil. Due to the positive response to this sequel, the production team plans to start filming for the prequel next year.
