Robert De Niro pulled no punches on The View on May 14.
As the conversation veered into political territory, the evergreen actor bared his confusion before his support for Donald Trump, who was mired in scandals and threats. The 80-year-old De Niro drew on historical figures such as Hitler and Mussolini to drive home the point.
“I don’t know why people are not taking him seriously,” De Niro said. “He’s done it already. And then what? We’re going to sit around and say, ‘I told you so?'” His honest comments drew applause from the audience.
