Suriya’s much-anticipated magnum opus “Kanguva”, directed by Siruthai Siva, was released last Thursday amidst immense expectations. While the film opened to mixed reviews for falling short of audience expectations, it has performed exceptionally well at the box office, grossing over ₹127 crore within just three days.
“Kanguva” faced criticism primarily for its present-day portions and overpowering audio levels. Responding swiftly to feedback, the makers have now trimmed approximately 12 minutes of footage, significantly reducing the present-day segments. The revised runtime stands at 2 hours and 22 minutes. Additionally, the audio issues have been addressed, promising an enhanced viewing experience.
The updated version has been re-censored and is hitting theatres from today. This proactive move is expected to boost the film’s already impressive box office run. “Kanguva” tells a gripping story that spans 1,000 years, focusing on the profound bond between a tribal leader and a boy with superpowers. With the new edits in place, the film is poised to win over even more audiences in the days ahead.
