BTS’ V recently sent heartfelt sentiments to fans before enlisting in the South Korean military, co-leaving a comforting message to his fans on Weverse. He said in his native Korean, “I’ll really miss you so much. Not meeting the message would be the hardest part, but don’t worry, I’m going to be back after 18 months.” Accompanying his issuance were selfies-one with a newly shaved head, symbolizing a fresh commitment. V hinted at the surprises awaiting fans, saying, “I’ve prepared a lot in 18 months. Please look forward to it.”
Adding to the emotional farewell, V released last night the music video for his song “Blue,” the last off of his debut album Layover, showing growth and vulnerability in his artistry through passionate tracks like “Love Me Again,” “Slow Dancing,” and “For Us.”
V’s enlistment comes as other members of BTS are scheduled for imminent military service. Earlier on Thursday, Big Hit Music had previously informed its fans that after Jin, J-Hope, and Suga are done with their enlistments, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook will be joining in. They requested that their fans support them during this period.
In South Korea, men are expected to offer 18 months of compulsory military service prior to their 28th birthday. The BTS announced a break to honour these obligations in October 2022. The band is scheduled to return in the year 2025 so that they can pick up where they left off on their musical career.
V’s heartfelt message symbolizes an eternal connection with fans, reminiscing on two loves that will never be separated. As they transition into this in-between period, V’s words ring true, leaving a lasting impression and yearning for BTS’s eventual comeback.
