CJI to look into Mahua’s urgent hearing plea

NEW DELHI: With the

Supreme Court

going for winter recess in two days, TMC leader

Mahua Moitra

on Wednesday sought

urgent hearing

on her plea challenging her expulsion from the Lok Sabha.
When the CJI’s bench assembled, Moitra’s lawyer and senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi mentioned the case before him. The

CJI

asked him to follow procedure to first mail the matter to the concerned registrar for listing.

As he replied that the mail was sent on Monday itself when the petition was filed, the CJI said he will look into it.
