) 2023, the results of which were declared by the

Indian Institute of Management

, Lucknow on Thursday.
Among the 14 toppers, 11 candidates are from engineering background: 4 from Maharashtra, 2 from Telangana, and 1 each from UP, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat, Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu.

Another 29 candidates scored 99.9 percentile, with only 1 woman candidate making it to the list of the 2nd highest scorers. Of these, 9 are from Maharashtra, 7 from Delhi, 4 from Karnataka, 2 each from Haryana, Telangana, UP, and 1 each from Tamil Nadu, Bihar, & West Bengal.

The next group of toppers, with 99.98 percentile, also comprised 29 candidates with 8 from Maharashtra, 3 each from Delhi, Rajasthan, Telangana, and UP, 2 from Bengal, and 1 each from Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, and Odisha.
“IIMs will release their admission lists for subsequent admission processes based on, among other things, the CAT score,” an official said.
Also, 91 non-IIM institutions will use CAT score for admissions into their management programmes. Around 2.88 lakh candidates, out of around 3.28 lakh registered eligible candidates, took the test returning an overall attendance of 88%. Out of these, 36% were females, 64% males, and 5 candidates represented transgender.
