Day sermons at churches across the city emphasised how no individual, group of people or community should feel insecure and peace must be a priority over violence of any kind. In their special prayers, church leaders also urged citizens to be “compassionate, tolerant and learn to forgive and resolve issues dividing society”, reports

spirit swept the city on Monday as devotees, dressed in their Christmas best and accompanied by families, congregated at churches for the special prayers.

demonstrates love and peace amidst all conflicts. There is a very small section of people who try to divide society. Such people are not followers of any faith. They only want chaos. But as children of God, we must not let such elements succeed in their motives,” said
