Vishal Karwal

is back on TV after a gap of two years, once again as Lord Krishna. By his own admission, he has portrayed the deity nearly nine times on television. He says, “In addition to playing Lord Krishna in three shows, I have also portrayed the character whenever I have essayed

Lord Vishnu

in a TV show. A lot of artistes may feel typecast when reprising a role, and it may be true to some extent, but I consider it a blessing – being chosen by God himself to portray him on screen.

I would gladly portray Lord Krishna a hundred times more if given the opportunity.”
The actor, who was last seen as Lord Vishnu in Dharm Yoddha Garud,

Hanuman – Sankat Mochan Naam Tiharo

, and Swarn Swar Bharat in 2022, is returning with not just one but two shows –

Tirupati Balaji

and

Rahu

. “I will play the title character, Lord Vishnu, and a common man in the first show and Lord Krishna in Rahu.”
Regarding the gap between projects on television, he explains, “I was busy shooting for a show titled Kashi Vishwanath for about five months. I also appeared in a couple of web series in between, though my roles were not particularly significant. Whenever I get a chance to explore something new, I take it up. However, as an actor, opportunities, especially in television, are not always within my control. Besides, I am occupied with setting up a resort in Palampur. Once that’s complete, I will be more proactive in seeking out work.”
