‘Sathyaa’ is a neo-noir gangster action film starring Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan. This 1988 movie emerged as one of the highest-grossing Tamil films of that time. Kamal Haasan’s portrayal of an angry youngster against our country’s unemployment and injustice in society left a big impact.
Now, it is reported that charming actor Ashok Selvan is all set to act in an adaptation/remake of Kamal Haasan’s ‘Sathyaa’. We hear that he will be reuniting with the ‘Por Thozhil’ director Vignesh Raja for this project. Ashok Selvan’s recent makeover highly resembles Ulaganayagan’s Sathyaa look and this adds fuel to the reports.
Take it with a pinch of salt until an official announcement is made. ‘Sathyaa’ marked the directional debut of the renowned filmmaker, Suresh Krissna. It starred Kamal Haasan, Amala, Janagaraj, Kitty, Rajesh, GM Sundar and many others. Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja composed the music for this film. The melody, ‘Valaiyosai’, from this album is one of the legendary songs of Tamil cinema.
