It is a well-known story that Thalapathy Vijay’s 2004 classic, ‘Ghilli’, was re-released worldwide a week ago. The 20-year-old sports action entertainer is gaining an extraordinary response than the other new releases at the box office, surpassing earlier re-release records.
The makers of ‘Ghilli’ including producer AM Rathnam of Sri Surya Movies aka Mega Surya Productions are happy with the audience’s response to the re-release. Sources tell us that AM Rathnam is planning to re-release some other old classics like Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan’s 1996 blockbuster ‘Indian’ and Thalapathy Vijay’s 2000 blockbuster ‘Kushi’.
Reportedly, AM Rathnam is working to bring ‘Indian’ again on the big screens by May end because the film’s sequel is all set for a June theatrical release. The re-release of ‘Indian’ is expected to be a boon for the release of Kamal Haasan and Shankar’s ‘Indian 2’ as well. The sequel is produced by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies with music by Anirudh.
