Hyundai Motor India has launched Chennai’s first 180 kW DC fast public charging station for electric vehicles (EVs) at the Spencer Plaza Mall in Anna Salai, Thousand Lights. The newly inaugurated charging station features both 150 kW and 30 kW connectors, making it compatible with a wide range of four-wheelers regardless of brand and model.
This initiative is part of HMIL’s larger goal to set up 100 fast public charging stations across Tamil Nadu, aimed at enhancing the EV ecosystem and encouraging more customers to adopt electric vehicles.

As per the company, the charging station, strategically located at Spencer Plaza Mall, is positioned near various customer amenities such as restaurants, shopping complexes, and other utilities, ensuring that users can conveniently occupy themselves while their vehicles charge. This station is part of Hyundai’s broader strategy to make charging facilities more accessible and user-friendly.
