Content Creator, 26, Dies After Falling From Spain’s Tallest Bridge While Trying To Film Social Media Post

A 26-year-old British man died after falling from Spain’s tallest bridge while attempting to climb it to make content for social media on Sunday morning.

The unidentified man was with another British man, 24, when he fell from the Castilla-La Mancha bridge in Talavera de la Reina, a city about 70 miles southwest of Madrid, according to a statement from the city council on Sunday.

“As far as we have been able to learn, they had come to Talavera to climb the bridge and create content for social networks, which has resulted in this disastrous and sad outcome,” local councilor Macarena Muñoz said, according to an online translation from Spanish.

While some daring adventurers have tried climbing the nearly 630-foot bridge, Muñoz noted that the city has “reiterated multiple times” that climbing it is “completely forbidden.”

The man’s body has been taken to a funeral home, according to the news release.

The content creator’s death comes months after another social media influencer slipped and fell into a 300-foot gorge while shooting Instagram videos over the summer.
