Filmmaker Sanoj Mishra, known for giving actress Monalisa a break in films after she went viral at the Maha Kumbh Mela, has been arrested following a serious sexual harassment complaint.
A young woman filed a police complaint accusing Mishra of luring her to hotels under the pretext of offering film roles, coercing her into compromising situations, and repeatedly harassing her. She also alleged that he took photos and videos to threaten her and that she had to undergo multiple abortions due to his actions.
Fearing arrest, Mishra sought anticipatory bail from the Delhi High Court. His lawyer argued that there was no evidence against him and claimed that the complainant did not object to his bail. However, the court rejected his plea, leading to his arrest. Reports suggest that multiple women have previously filed complaints against him, and an investigation is ongoing.
In the wake of his arrest, speculation is rife that his upcoming film, inspired by Monalisa’s life, may face a major setback.
