RK Selvamani has issued a response following allegations made by Kalaiselvi, a partner of Five Star Company, against actor Dhanush and himself.

In his statement, Selvamani clarified that during a meeting at the Tamil Film Producers Association on September 30, 2024, Kalaiselvi had requested a call sheet from Dhanush but did not officially file a complaint. The dispute revolves around an advance payment of ₹3 crore given to Dhanush years ago, which Five Star Company now demands be returned as ₹16 crore, citing accumulated interest.

The Nadigar Sangam opposed this demand, stating it was unfair. Efforts were made to negotiate a reasonable settlement, with offers ranging from ₹3 crore to ₹6 crore. Eventually, Dhanush reportedly agreed to pay ₹6 crore solely out of respect for Selvamani and the Producers’ Association but refused to pay more, insisting legal action could be pursued if necessary.

Selvamani also criticized attempts to politicize the issue and reaffirmed that the matter was being handled transparently.
