(KIA) thwarted three

gold smuggling

attempts on June 23.
In the first incident, a passenger was caught with 271 grams of gold, worth Rs 19 lakh. The yellow metal was meticulously concealed on the man’s body to evade detection during screening.
The second case involved a more substantial haul — 538 grams of gold, worth Rs 38 lakh was found hidden under a passenger’s clothes.

In the last bust, a passenger was found to have concealed 211 grams of gold paste valued at Rs 15 lakh in his innerwear. Stopping short of disclosing more details, sleuths said they have initiated investigation into all the three cases to uncover the networks and methods employed by the smugglers.
