It will be considered as the Noida of Bundelkhand. Since BIDA’s inception, its first board meeting was held on Thurs day. Number of decisions have been taken in which our major focus will be on land acquisition. In the second stage, we will be preparing the master plan by hiring world-class consultants.”

In September 2023, the state cabinet approved the formation of the Bundelkhand industrial development authority to bolster developmental work in the region, known for its backwardness. A budget of Rs 8,000 crore was earmarked for the functioning of the authority. The industrial authority has been formed on the lines of Noida, formed in 1976 for developing townships and will be started under the Bundelkhand Chief Minister Industrial Area Expansion and New Industrial Area Promotion Scheme. In the first phase of the project, an industrial city will be established by acquiring 35,000 acres of land from 33 revenue villages in Jhansi. The cost of the land is 6,312 crore. The project will also provide a fillip to the upcoming defence corridor, of which Jhansi is a crucial node.
The cabinet had decided that the initial procurement of land for the authority would be made by the UP state industrial development authority, which will work as a mentoring body.
